Mailbag - It's that time of the week

[The Marco says: 'Moo']April, the month of... rain. Well, rain isn't a Dragon's best friend, so why don't you all read these letters (especially the Point to Make) and I'll wait under shelter for May.

Points to Make

If you're ever looking at the screenshots stashed away in the Next Zelda section, you'll noticed they are captioned when you put your mouse over them. The captions are very funny, I wrote them myself.

April 20- 27

Hello again. As you can see, I like to pick out the little things in Zelda. When you speak to the Gossip Stone in the Sacred Forest Meadow (Ocarina of Time) it says that the owl (I forgot how his name is spelled) is a reincarnation of an ancient sage. Everybody knows this, and it is theorized that the sage could be Rauru, but most people from different zelda sites say he's not. Well, I have proof that he is. Rauru is the sage of the Light Temple. If you speak to the Gossip Stone in the Sacred Forest Meadow that is behind the one that tells about the reincarnation, it says that the owl, though he is heavy, is infact lighthearted. This is proof that the owl is Rauru.
Thanks again for reading my letter.
JetGex03@aol.com

Unfortunately I doubt it very much. It's impossible for the Owl to be the reincarnated form of Rauru, because for someone to be reincarnated they must first be dead. Rauru doesn't die anytime during the game, he's there at the Chamber of Sages when you first arrive and he's there at the end.

i found out that on the back of the deku shield it has a picture of the kokiri emarald on it.
Link11520@aol.com

Yes, yes it does. That's actually the Kokiri Symbol, it's on many Kokiri things I bet.

Now I am aware that the new game boy oracles are going to be two seperate games connected with each other by passwords, but does this mean that the strategy guides will be seperate as well or are they going to include all the stradegies in one bigger guide (as far as Nintedo Power and Primagames are concerned anyway)?
captainbob47@hotmail.com

I actually saw a Strategy Guide available somewhere, this being the Official Guide, and it contained both game's guides in one book.

April 12- 19

i was just wondering... In Zelda 2 for NES I need to learn the Spell Spell, (not a mistake) but the old man who is supposed to teach it to you just tells me to look east in the woods! theres NOTHING THERE I tell you! NOTHING, THERE! Please help me if you can!
SuperPiggy303@hotmail.com

According to our walkthrough to the Spell Spell "[y]ou need to go to Hidden Kasuto and go into the empty large home to learn the spell from the old man."

You have the best zelda site on the net please don't ever close down. I like the new look. Keep up the best work.
bigt316@email.msn.com

Aw shucks.

Hello. I am a big fan of your site, and I am very impressed with your work. I am writing to you to point something interesting out that you might want to post on your site. In Ocarina of Time, inside the instruction booklet on page 21, there is a picture of the Select Item Subscreen. If you look hard, there is a picture of the Fairy Ocarina, along with the Ice Arrows, Light Arrows, and Nayru's Love. It is impossible to have the Ice Arrows and Nayru's Love while still having the Fairy Ocarina, because in order to get to Gerudo Valley and Desert Colossus, where Nayru's Love and the Ice Arrows are located, you need the Ocarina of Time, because you need to be an adult before you enter the desert. Could this mean something?
Thankyou for taking the time to read my letter, and best of wishes on the site.
JetGex03@aol.com

Well, that's actually a well known oddity from Ocarina of Time, but I still find it interesting. I bet it's froma demo version of the game Nitnendo had or something.

no link is a hylian not a kokirian it tells u in the game later when u defeat the forest temple so my answer is no i's not referring to link
bengland62@optushome.com.au

I'm guessing you're referring to the Pressbox question where we joked that Ruto said Link was, "Silly, everyone knows Link is a Kokiri, not a Hylian, a Zora, or anything else". Apparently you thought we were serious! It's a joke! A j-o-k-e! Sorry, I hate being corrected when they're the wrong ones (especially one with horrible grammar).

March 30- April 6

What's the title of the Zelda for Gamecube supposed to be called?
nkeklund@tc3net.com

Unfortunately, we don't know yet. People are calling it Zelda 128 or Zelda Cube.

On the legend of Zelda links awakening walk through when you said in turtle dungeon push the block up to the two blocks......wait.........thats impossible!
Chaz52@aol.com

Sure it is, Jack wouldn't write something that's impossible... or would he? Actually, I tried it and it worked, just push the bottom block to the side, and the one in the middle up.

Hello my name is Jonathan Hughes and ive been doing exstincive (sorry about my spelling) research on the legend of Zelda series and with all the information ive found. ive figured out the new zelda for gamecube storyline. First i figured out a pattern in the story of the intire zelda series, its devided in to generations and each generation contains two games steing the same link, the legend of zelda and adventure of link, are the same generation and in the zelda chronology the last generation but the first generation made, the there is link to the past and links awakeing ,are of the the same generationand and are prequil to the original series , the ocorina of time and majoras mask are of the same generation and a prequil the second series the the new zelda should be before ocorina there fore with all the clues you get in the ocorina of time this takes place during the war that the original hero of time fought in and when the triforce was sealed up in the temple of time and when the link in ocerina was takien to the kokiri forest.
Jman11688@aol.com

Well, that is a theory, but keep in mind that one Prequel will probably be enough for Zelda. More fans would rather see the game story go forward, rather than continually backwards.

what happened to all those other stoires on your site? the went away after u changed the site
Heater@mindspring.com

Actually, the Fan Fiction was compressed so that individual chapters were not listed on the main index, but the first chapter of each story was instead, so it looks like we're missing a lot.

For Triforce's sake, if you have a question, comment, complaint, or anything you want to say, and me to respond to, then email Marco Bartoli at m_bartoli@angelfire.com all letters will either be posted or (if urgent) answered by Marco (me) himself!
