Walkthroughs | Stone Towers

A very special thanks to Zack Willis for writing this walkthrough.

Requirements: Zora Mask, Great Fairy's Mask, Goron Mask, Deku Mask, Hookshot, 2 Green Potions, Elegy of Emptiness,

Things to Get: Dungeon Map, Compass, Key x4, Light Arrows, Boss Key, Giant's Mask, Stray Fairies x15

Prelude to the Stone Towers Once you "open" the Owl Statue atop Rockvale ((Stone Tower)), play the Song of Time. Immediately play the Song of Inverted Time after you come out of the warp. Then, buy 2 Green Potions from the Trading Post or Kotake's Potion Shop ((they are cheaper at Kotake's)). Then, warp to the Stone Tower Statue and repeat the process to get into the Stone Tower Temple. This temple is tough, and has 2 parts.

The Stone Towers of Ikana

Floor 1F: Entrance Room
In here, shoot the eye switch on the face of the strange face. On the central walkway, a chest will appear. Take out the Bombchu with an arrow first, then Hookshot to the chest. Open it for Fairy #1. You should be facing South now, so head to the door to your right.

Floor 1F: Southwest Room
In this new room, there are a lot of Real Bombchus running around, and many blue switches. Go forward and to your right to take out all of the Bombchus running around. Then, find a cracked wall and bomb it. Break all of the crates and put 2 of the smaller ones on two of the small switches. Then, as Goron Link, make an image of yourself on the large blue switch. Go to the grate and turn around. You should see one more switch. Make an image of Normal Link and go through grate.

In the other side of this room, bomb the darker ground without the grass and take out the Dragonfly. Then go the stairs to the right and down them.

Floor B1: West Room
In here, melt the Sun Block by shining the light on it. Then, as Goron Link, take out the Armos Knights that are in the lava. Then, do the same to the other 2 in the short hallway with a chest in it. This makes a chest with a Key appear in the middle of the lava. Open it, and then open the chest on the opposite side of the room to gain the very much needed Dungeon Map!

Go back to the other side and look for a ledge. Above the ledge should be a target. Hookshot up to it and open up the chest for Fairy #2.

Go back up the stairs and to the locked door. Open it to be in a new room.

Floor 1F: Central Room
As Zora Link, cross to the other side of the room. Let the Dexihand grab you. It will throw you up to the ledge with the chest. Open it to get your second Key. Go through the pathway under the Dexihand to be in a new room with a couple of Bio Babas on the floor.

Floor 1F: Central Southeast Room In here, you should take out the Bio Babas on the submerged floor here. Then walk up to the spikes and blow them up using you fin shields. Step on the switch to make a chest appears upside down?! Get up on the walkway. Up here, look for a frozen eye switch. Shoot it with a Fire Arrow to make a chest appear on the ceiling?!!? What the Hell?!

Anyway, go to the little beam of light. You should see a mirror. Ask Tatl and she will say it's not normal. What it does is it absorbs the light, then reflects it for a period of time. Do this; then melt the Sun Block by doing the same thing. Open the chest with the Bombchu Rat for the ever helpful Compass! Turn around and go through the locked door

Floor 1F: East Hallway
In here can be hard. Punch the blocks as Goron Link and then as Hylian Link, shine light on the farthest right Sun Symbol to make a chest appear. Open the chest to get Fairy #3. Now, go back to the light and shine light onto the mirror to your right until the mirror shoots a beam of it's own.

Melt the Sun Block (this can be a bit challenging because the Black Boes keep on regenerating). Before opening the chest for Fairy #4, kill the Nejiron. Now, go back and shine light on the mirror for a while that is to your left. Then, shine light on the other mirror, and finally, on the Sun Block. Ignore the Black Boes until the Sun Block on the end of the room is gone. Then, take care of them after the block is gone. Advance to the door and go through.

Floor 1F: Northeast Room
In here, use Deku Link to dive in the flower and get to the gust of air. Make a sharp left turn and get the rupees. Open the chest for Fairy #5. Then, as Goron Link, jump down and Goron Pound the switch. Then roll across the twist and turns to the switch before the fire springs up again. This can be very challenging if you haven't mastered the Goron Roll. If you accomplish this, the fire around a chest will lower for all time. Put on your Deku Mask and let yourself burn to get back at the start ((don't worry, you won't loose any hearts)).

Back at the start, fly to the first gust, and then land on some catwalks near it. Jump down to the next gust (don't worry, you'll probably make it), and fly to the next, and then to the ledge. Open up the chest for Fairy #6. Then as Link, go through the door to face a Mini Boss

Mini Boss: Garo Master
He laughs really cool, and has supercharged flame swords. Zoikes (woah! you didn't think I sometimes watch Scooby-Doo, did you?)! He can't hurt you while you're blocking, but it seems you can't hit him either.

When you see him jump forward, side jump. You have to be quick. When he's looking around, hit him. He sometimes will let his defense down, but he does this very rarely. If he does, hit him immediately.

Sometimes, when he's charging you, he will jump really high and try to stomp on you. When you see his shadow, move and let him have it. A nice, double-powered Jump Attack will do really well here. Once he is totaled, he will tell you something important, blow himself up, and leave you the Light Arrows. Go through The door to reach a nice little catwalk with a Masked Hiploop there.

Floor 1F: Southbound Central Hallway
In here, take out the Hiploop by using the Hookshot for a grand total of 3 times (the first shot will take the mask from it). Go through the door after taking it out.

You should be on the bridge in the central room where you saw the strange looking thing on the bridge. It's called an Eyegore. Wake it up by walking to it. Ready and arrow, but don't release; get close to it so it rears back. Then do 2 backflips and let fly! Do this several times until the cyclops falls for good. for now, that is. It may walk away if you get too far back, so keep close. If this happens, just wake it up. After it's gone, go through the door behind it ((after getting Fairy #7 from the chest)). Go through the door to be in the Entrance Room again.

The Hidden Chests
Take out the Bombchu Rat that is walking around, and the shoot the sun symbol with a light arrow to make a chest appear, and then go to your left. You should be back in the East Room with the frozen Eye Switch. Jump right under the pathway as Zora Link and take the path underwater to be back in the Central Room.

Swim over to the Dexihand to be grabbed and thrown onto the ledge. Then, place a bomb at the fence so it hits the Crystal Switch. It should make a chest appear ion the other side behind the other fence. Get onto the opposite ledge using the Zora Dolphin Jump. Shoot the sun block with a light arrow, walk in, take out the Beamos fist, and claim your Stray Fairy (#8).

Play the Song of Soaring to get to the exit and go out for a little chore.

The Secret of Stone Tower
Out here, step on the switch to make the middle block move. Jump on a block next to it and shoot the blood/scarlet-red switch. I won't tell you what happens next, because it's pretty cool. Once you're done, get back in the temple with a few rolling jumps.

Inverted Floor 1F: Entrance Room
Back again, but this time you're on the ceiling! On the unopened Boss Warp, open the chest for Fairy #9. Head for the door to your right, being cautious that you don't fall into the void.

Inverted Floor 1F: East Room
Melt the Sun Block with a Light Arrow, and proceed. Transform into a Deku and take the far right gust to reach a ledge. Take out the Hiploop with your Hookshot and then shoot the eyeswitch with a Fire Arrow to make a chest appear. Then hit the switch on the other end of the walkway and get the Key on the other end.

Go back up to the ledge where you took out the Hiploop. Take the Deku Flower and fly to a ledge for Fairy #10. As Link, make an image to make a chest appear surrounded by spikes. Shoot them with arrows, then make your way up there via air gust. Open it for Fairy #11. Then take the left air gust as Deku Link to get to a locked door. Open it and enter

Inverted Floor 2F: Central East Room
Shoot the blood-red switch with a Light Arrow to flip this room upside down. Cross the Lava as Goron Link and when you're on the other side, shoot the switch to make the room right side up. Enter the door for a cool puzzle.

Inverted Floor 2F: Central West Room
You will probably be mad at me, but I won't tell you how to get through the puzzle completely, but I will get you started. Make an image of Link to throw off the Chu chus in here. Then push the block forward until it stops. Flip the room over and continue from there. Take out the Chu chus for arrows and magic if needed, when you've unbarred the door, enter.

Take out the Fire Wizrobe in here (look at the red dot on the map when he makes multiple images) and Hookshot to the chest. Open it for Fairy #12. Go through the door.

Inverted Floor 1F: West Room
Take out the closest to you in here, and cross the room via Deku Flowers. Be careful of the other Poes, they can knock you into the void.

Inverted Floor 1F: Central Room
Shoot the spike so the explode, and use the Deku Flower and fly over to them. Then cross to the other side. You may have noticed an Eyegore on the ledge in the center of the room. Don't worry about it now, just go through the door.

Inverted Floor 1F: East Room
Run past the Blue Bubbles or kill them. Get to the other side and beak the crates for supplies. You might just need them.

Mini Boss: Gomess
When you enter this room, it's strangely dark. Suddenly, a LOT of bats come together and forms your Mini Boss. If you don't have Double Defense, he can suck your life away like candy! Shoot him with a Light Arrow and the hack him. If you run out of magic, hack the bats while being close (he can't hit you very good). AT one point, the room will turn red and he will release the bats to attack you. You can't do anything, so just try to take him out by using the Shoot-get close and hack strategy. Killing him earns you the Boss Key!

Go back to the 3 Poe room and take a ledge to your right (coming from Gomess). Run past the Death Armos Knights. Make an image on the blue switch. Go to the revealed chest for a Key. Get back to the Poe room and then go back to the room where you saw the Eyegore. Go to the opposite side and take the narrow ledge to your right and enter the door.

Shoot the Death Armos in the center with a Light Arrow to make it flip upside down. Run over and make it smash down on its head (get underneath it). Step on the switch and Hookshot to the chest that appears. Go through the door. Take out the Eyegore the same way, but watch out for its Eye Lasers. Get the Giant's Mask out of the chest and go through the door.

Inverted Floor 1F: Southbound Central Hallway
Get to the boss arena by hitting a switch, jumping down, and using you Hookshot. When you enter the boss arena, jump in the sand portal. GIANT MASKED INSECT TWINMOLD
Once in, you see one huge-ass centipede come out of the air. Zelda Veterans will think Lanmolas from the originals, but there are 2 of them. Put on the Giant's Mask to turn into well, a giant. The side affect is that the mask uses Magic Power. To kill Twinmold, slice its head or the tip of its tail to hurt it. If you run out of magic, take a swig of one of those Green Potions I told you to bring, or as a Giant, roll into one of the pillars to make magic bottles come out. Twinmold takes about 8 to 11 hits for each insect, and when you're done, you'll meet will the last Guardian, who tells you to forgive SkullKid. Huh? Forgive SkullKid? No way, man, not after he took Epona.

The Last 3 Stray Fairies Go back to the temple and flip it right side up. Go in and claim your last Stray Fairies (#13, 14, & 15). If you remember where they are, get them quickly. Then, head back to Ikana Valley. Head to the house nearest the castle to enter the last Fairy Fountain. Return all 15 fairies to get the mighty Great Fairy's Sword!

When you are ready, I suggest you do the Kafie and Anju subquest for the last mask, the Couple's Mask (if you haven't already). Then head to the last walkthrough when you feel like it
