BS Zelda is the "lost" Zelda game that was relased via satellite to BSX systems, that were plugged in Super Famicon (Japanese SNES) systems. The game was basically downloaded once a week, and only eight of the levels were "released." The final level, Ganon's Lair, was never released.

BS Zelda is basically the original Zelda game, but with 16-bit graphics, and redesigned dungeons and such. You have to defeat Ganon and save Princess Zelda. BS Zelda was basically a promotion game for Nintendo, so it was really never released as a real game, but only for BS-X.

First you're going to need the ZNES emulator, which can be downloaded here. Then you can get the ROM for it here.

A word about Legality

The whole thing that makes a ROM illegal is that they copy games that can be bought, thus losing money for the good people at Nintendo and other game publishers. But, BS Zelda was never put on sale and was only available for 8 weeks. So, this ROM is legal and feel free to use it without worry.

Working the ROM

Unfortunately, the ROM is hard to operate as it doesn't work through windows. When the screen says "Starting Windows 95/98" hit F8 and a menu will pop up. Choose "Command Prompt" and go to the directory with BS Zelda and the ROM, now run it as usual. If you try through windows, you won't be able to choose your name.
