She stared at him her eyes filled with consern and wonder she would have said something, but it was like they both understood what was going on. He stepped forward looking at her stunning eyes with amazment and awe. He gently lifted her hand and leaned forward to...... "AHHHHHHH!!!!" Link shot up in amazment. "Don't do that Sar. You scared the heck out of me!" "You are such a wimp. Besides its morning, time to wake for normal people," Saria smiled down at him and put her hand on his shoulder and gave him a good shake. "I'm up. I'm up," Link yawned as he gave Saria a dirty look, but she just smiled wide in a sarcastic manner. "Okay for one thing, stop watching me sleep. It creeps me out when I wake up from a bad dream and all I see is this little kokiri staring at me with her blue eyes!" Saria smiled at him then her face turned to consern. Link stared at the way her brow twitched ever so slightly when Link had a bad dream or was being harassed by Mido. "Another one, Link maybe you should talk to the Great Deku tree about this, I mean unless you were dreaming Mido was a girl and had a crush on you, then you should try not to sleep," Saria's face lit up as she turned her frown of consern into a comforting smile. Link smiled, he couldn't help it, it was contageous in the bright eyed girl. "Oh, now that wouldn't have been a bad dream, that would have been a nightmare!" Saria's blue eyes tilted slightly when she put a huge smile on her face. And once again Link couldn't help it he smiled too. Link began to recall his rather long dream, which he thought was only a dream. He told her of the deku tree dying at the hands of Ganondorf. Her face began to fill with worry and she kept on his every word. He liked it. It made him feel like a great story teller. He continued telling her all about princess Zelda and Hyrule. Her interest was captured, for Saria always wanted to see the outside world. He told her of the slightly dumb Gorons, the rock people. He told her of the fish people called the Zoras. He made her laugh as he explained in detail about the huge Zora, King Zora. Then he described a girl named Ruto who thought that she was going to marry him. The green haired girl laughed hard, with the description. To hard, Link thought. He then told about the sages and the temples. Then he explained about Ganondorf an evil far to hard to explain, she shuddered in fear, then he relized he better tone it down a bit. When he concluded Saria looked at him strangley. "Well, we'd better go see the Great Deku Tree, but we have to get there fast, so there's only one thing we can do," Saria's eyes lighted up with mischeif. Which gave the young boy a bad feeling. "What?" he asked uneasiley as his deep blue eyes stared at her. Saria smiled very suspiciously. "This!" Saria grabbed the young boys hat off his head and ran down the ladder quickly. "Heyyyyyy!" Link quickly regained himself and jumped off the ladder and falling on his elbow, he shrugged and chased the green haired Saria all the way to the Great Deku Tree. And swiftly relized that she stopped just in time to not look a fool in front of the Kokiri's gaurdian. He slowed down, but still looked stupid and his cheaks became a bright hue of red. Saria smirked and put on his hat on her head. Link grabbed it and Saria stuck out her tounge at him. He was obligated to do the same thing, but was caught by the Great Deku Tree. "Why has thou come upon this place?" The Great Deku Tree boomed out in a reasuring voice. "Link has been having some troubling dreams latley and he'd like some advice" Saria smiled reasurring at Link as he nervously stepped before the Tree and told him of his dream. The Great Tree looked worried for a moment and then spoke. "All these events spoken by thou. Have taken place, but in another time. Link, you returned to this world for more than a many reasons. One, hundreds of lives were taken. Secondly thou had lost seven good years of thou's childhood. Link, thou art Hylian. This dream you had symbolizes that the time has come. I am not as wise as Rauru, so I don't know exactly what's going on but I feel that thou's time has come, now," The Deku Tree looked down upon Link and smiled as if he was his father. "I...I understand," Link said while looking at his feet. Saria just stood in horror and disbelief. "No, not yet," Tears streamed down her face as she ran to the lost woods. Link tried to run after her. "Thou has a good heart," the Deku Tree told Link as he ran off. Link stared back at him and smiled for a second. When he reached the lost woods he was seriously tired out. When he fianlly got to the sacred forest meadow, Saria was on the tree just below the roof of the forest temple, Link sighed she only ever went up there when she was mad at him for something, because he didn't know how to get up there. "Sar, come down so we can talk," Link said desperation filled his voice as she shook her head, "Sar, please." She closed her eyes for a second and then look down at him. She sighed. And pointed for him to come up there. He looked at her for a second with vacant eyes. She smiled for a second. "Use the ladder, over there," Saria pointed the east side and Link hit himself in the face. When he got up there and gave her an 'I knew that' smile. She smiled back for a second, "Link how can leave me....I mean the forest." "Sar, you knew that this day would come, you know I'm not Kokiri ever since you first saw me as an infant, I guess I just adjusted thats all. And you know I care about you and the forest, but look at me," Saria shifted her head and looked at the handsome Hyrulian, his blond hair flopped just a little bit over his head, and his piercing blue eyes cut right thru her like they could see inside her. She sighed. That wasn't what he was talking about, she looked maybe nine. He couldn't be younger than 12. It wasn't much of a difference, unless your a Kokiri. "I know, Its just," Saria's eyes began to well with tears, Link held her close to him and hugged her. They stayed there for a while then he walked Saria home, "So, when are you going?" "Tommorow," she held her grip on her tunic. "Ummm," she began as a huge lump in her throut apearred, "Lets say our goodbye now," "Saria, no I can't do that," "Please," her voice quivered. He gave her a hug and peck on the cheak and she walked away. "Goodbye," he said quietly as she walked inside her hut. The next day the Link woke up early, for once in his life. He gave out some hugs and handshakes to his kokiri brothers and sisters. He held his head up high and walked outside on the bridge looking back hoping to see Saria. No use. He sighed and sat down for a second,"This is going to be harder than I thought," Link said out loud. Meanwhile, Saria's lovley little fairy Tiri stared at her and shook her head. Saria looked up and made the 'what' gesture. Tiri replied a bit hostaliy, "What in the world do you think your doing? Link is out there and you need to say goodbye. He looks so hurt." Saria stared at her feet then noticed her orcarina lying on the floor. She brightened, got up and grabed the tan instrument and another one and ran to the bridge where Link still was. "Link," she ran her hands thru her hair as Link turned around a smiled largly. "Sar, its about time," He grabbed her and gave a huge bear hug. She smiled weakly and handed him the tan orcarina. "This is one for you, so you can remember me," Saria took out her orcarina and began to play the song that enchanted the lost woods. Link smiled and put his orcarina and quickly caught on. Saria smiled. "Play that whenever you need to remember me." Link smiled and was about to walk out of the forest when he turned around and kissed Saria, then quickly and ran off. Saria sat there and cried as he left, it was so familar except it felt like it hurt more this time.
