Nathaniel looked up in to the night sky and found the moon."It looks beutiful tonight" he said, although he knew that no one could hear him."and its nice and cool to"looking down from the moon he was embaresed to think that he had forgoten all about the battle raging in Hyrule feild.Nathaniel was a knight of the Hylian kingdom.Most of his freinds where knights and many of them where fighting in the battle now.The King of Hyrule had been the real problem.He thought that the Hylians where superear to the other racesHyrule.The leader of the Gorrons,Darunia had been the one that was so offended by these remarks,and being short tempered he soon declared war on the Hylians.Not all where battling the Hylians though,the Gorrons where also battling the Zoras.The Zoras had detained thier aggresions tward the Gerudo and King Zora the XVI soon decided it was time to let those aggresions out.So the Zoras where battling the Gerudo,The "Great War"is what all the races of Hyrule where calling it.Nathaniel looked again to the sky and he could now see the top of Lon Lon ranch,the ranches construction had been halted due to the war.His good friend Talon was the owner of the ranch.He and his wife Jessie had always planed on having the ranch.What they didnt plan on though was having thier daughter.Malon was a beutiful baby girl though and Talon didnt regret for a moment having her but the terrible thing was that Jessie had died durring the birth due to complications and would never see her beutiful ranch.Talon and Malon where safe none the less they where in the house where they had lived for the longest waiting for the ranches completion,safly behind the castle walls.

Thinking of a child he looked across the room to a bed in the corner.There lying in the bed was his sleeping wife,Julie.she was trully beutiful,baby blue eyes,sandy blond hair and Nathaniel always loved looking at her,he loved her so much.And lying beside her was thier son,Thier son Link.He was a lovly child,blond hair,blue eyes just like his mother.He loved them so much and they where so much alike he had to smile.Link started to wake up and he walked over to the bed and picked him up.He was awake as Nathaniel picked him up.He tickled him in his stomach and watched him squeal in delight and laugh."Daaa,Daaaaa(he was trying to talk)Nathaniel couldnt help but laugh."Oh my son I will always be your papa I love you so much my boy,my Link"."How does it feel dad"?Nathaniel turned around and found Julie awake and watching"so"?"Ive never been more proud in my life my love".He walked over to the bed and sat down beside her.'Do you know what"?he said,she took her eyes off of her child to look at him "what"?"I think that I am the luckiest man in the world"he said.He smiled and kissed her on the cheek."And I am the lukiest woman in the world".He smiled and looked down at his child.Link looked up and yawned they both laughed."I think that the sound will come soon""I need to get ready".He kissed her and kissed his baby boy on the forehead and commensed to geting ready for battle.He put on his boots,straped on his shield,threw his quiver and bow on his back put his sword by the door and put on his helmet.He then walked over to the window to wait for the sound of his captins voice.

Quite a few moments later he was startled by Julies voice"please my love,promise me that you will be careful for I and our child".He looked up and said "I proise".It was at least haph an hour before the call from his captin."Second ifintry report".He sat up and walked to the door there he kissed Julie and said"I shall return soon,I love you"with that he grabed his sword and looked over and at Link then left to go to the town square.As he walked down the alley he prayed to the gods that he could return to his child and wife.When he arrived at the gathering place he learned that they where to be behind the front lines he breathed a sigh of relief"Now,about face,forward march!!"his captin yelled.They arrived at the draw bridge and saw the masive door open."All right men fight for your country and your loved ones " Nathaniel looked up prayed again and then heard his captin yell "CHARGE!!!!!!"

Nethaniel ran with his sword drawn and shield armed.he was engadged by a Zoran but quickly wounded him he then ran forward and joined his men.The war raged for many hours and Nathaniel saw many die.When Nathaniel ran to join a biger group of warriors he was shot in the arm with an arrow and fell into the moat.He knew that if he where captured he would be killed.He floated down the moat and to the Gerudo camp there he over heard the commander say"His majesty said that we will storm the castle the next charge so be ready"hearing this he waited for an hour in a ditch bleeding.When the Gerudo left the small camp he sorefully raised up out of the water and ran to his captin and told him.His captin told him to go to get with hi men and fight but he looked and saw that he could do no good so ordered him to go back to the castle the next time the bridge opened.When the draw bridge open he and a few others ran for the safety of the castle.He was nervosese about the Gerudo but they must have not been mobilized because they did not attack.He hobbled back to his home.He walked to the bed and woke Julie."I was shot I need help"she nursed his wounds and let him rest."I want you and Link to go hide somwhere,the Gerudo are planning to attack the castle."Julie looked up and said"but where will we go?""I dont know but you must go somwhere besides here"he said."The only race that is not at war are the Kokiri".He thought a moment"But thier only kids how can they raise a child?"he said."I've read of a leader of thiers in a ledgend"Julie said."We have to do what is in the best intrist for our child"he said.She looked down and shed a tear"I dont know what I will do with out my baby."He put his arms around her and told her he loved her.They both fell asleep in each others arms.

There was a loud sound like a loud boom Nathaniel woke up to the sound and was extreamly startled.after a few more booms he knew what it was.He woke Julie and said"Julie get dressed and grab Link the Gerudos are trying to storm the castle."The sound (as Nethaniel discovered later)was a battering ram trying to destroy the draw bridge.They ran down the alley to the town square "we will use the west wall to escape it is the less steapest."They got over the west wall with little or no trouble and started tward thier destination.To get to the Kokiri forest would be hard but he would get them there no matter what.He walked side ways with his sword drawn making sure that nothing got by him.They ran all the way to the un-finished Lon Lon ranch.Then Link woke up.He started crying and someone,somthing heard him.The Zora saw Nathaniel and creeped up behind him.He reared up and threw his spear at him.The spear hit him in the side and went all the way through him.The Zoras had very powerful arms due to all of the swimming they do.He ran of after he thought Nathaniel would not get back up.He must not have saw Julie beacause he didnt do any thing to her.She neeled down and talked to him but all he said was"run,run as fast as you can"she told him she lovd him and ran.she got all the way to the enterance and then she was hit an arrow in the leg.She didnt care,she just kept on going.

All she could see was darkness,after a few moments she felt the hurt in her left leg.She sat down and carefully removed the arrow from her leg.When her eyes ajusted to the darkness she made out large trees all around her and what she thought to be houses."What a strange place"she limped for a ways and then fell.Link started crying and she did to she wanted her husband.She thought of him and found the stengh to get back up she picked her baby boy up and moved on.Stumbleing around in the dark she soon found a sighn that said'great deku trees medow.'What or,who was the great deku tree she thought?"He's our leader."She was startled and looked behind her to see a little blonde haired girl standing behind her."please take me to him."The girl looked around "um,ok follow me."She walked through a small narrow passege and out into a large open medow."Great deku tree some body is here to see you."She looked and saw the largest tree she had ever saw."Who art though?"She looked startled and asked the blonde haired chid"who said that?""he did"she said and pointed to the tree."But how?"She looked up and said"just ansewer him.She looked puzzeled but ansewred any way "my name is Julie and I need you to help me.""How dost though supose I help thee?""My child needs your help,he will die if you dont help him."The Deku tree looked deep into the heart of the young woman and saw she was a good person."I can tell thou ist a good person and i know why thou hast come to this place."She looked up withtears in her eyes"so you will take care of my baby?""Thou hast come at a benificial it is the birth of two new Kokiri."She looked puzzled and he explained"Every thirty years a few Kokiri die and the same number are born tonight is that night""I will allow your child to grow up here until your return."She looked up and said"Thank you I will be in your service forever"she started crying"And now thou must return to thy husband he is in thy need."She nodded and said"would you please keep his name as Link?""that I shall"he said."Now go be with thy love."She sat her her child down and kissed him on the head,she was crying the hole time."My little Link I will always love you and I will be back for you when this terrible war ends"She raised up and ran,she ran all the way to the enterance to the forest.When she was all the way back in Hyrule feild she relized she had been bleeding sevearly she looked down to her wound,It was worst than she thought.Nevertheless she limped all the way to her husband.He was asleep she thought but he was awake and said"Is he safe?""yes hes safe"she said.She laid down into his arms and fell asleep,so did he.

"It is time."the sky turned a shade of green and two balls of light apeared,they slowly grew and desended.When they hit the ground two babies apeared and the Deku tree called for the two oldest Kokiri to come to the medow.One of them was the blond haired girl"Thy has spent thy life well now thy will go to the realm of Din,Farore,Nayru.With that they turned into balls of light and driffted into the air then disapeared.The Deku tree then called two more to take the new ones away,"The boy shall be known as Mido and the girl will be known as Saria."They where then taken away to thier new homes.Link was asleep,The Deku tree senced somthing about this child.He could tell that his desteny would greatly influance the world.He then called the new leader of the Kokiri to his medow,and told him to take the child to his home and raise him until he could do things for himself.

The Deku tree was then alone and thought to himself,now child of desteny sleep well the day of awakening will come soon.
