Impa

Impa is a Skeikah woman who was in charge of protecting Princess Zelda. Impa is a kind woman who is actually very strong despite her appearance. When Ganondorf attacked Hyrule Castle, Impa took Zelda out of the Castle and hid her in a Sheikah camp. Seven years later the evil Bongo Bongo creature escaped from the Well and Impa went to the Shadow Temple to try to bind it. Link helped Impa defeat Bongo Bongo. Impa revealed herself as the Shadow Sage and gave Link a medallion. Since then there have been many other Impas, seeming to be a special lineage of Impas that serve the Royal Family. Centuries later, another Impa was sent by Zelda to find someone to help her when Ganon attack (during Zelda 1) and Impa found Link III. After those events the same Impa took Link III to North Castle and sent Link on his quest to awaken the sleeping Princess Zelda.
